Is the 2020 Jeep Gladiator Truck Hybrid? Mississauga, Brampton
Posted on December 14, 2018
The excitement is building around the arrival of the bouncing baby 2020 Jeep Gladiator. Toronto and Oakville, if you want to get it before the big Canadian launch, you’d best order now. This is definitely one of those you-snooze-you-lose scenarios, as the wait after the launch is going to be a long one. Call us at Team Chrysler, right now, at 905-819-0001 and we’ll get yours ordered. Delivery is around the end of March.
Drivershave been wondering what’s up with the hybrid eTorque four cylinder turbo engine offered on the Wrangler. Will it be offered on the Gladiator? Turns out, no, it will not. Fear not, though as there is a perfectly good reason for that. Towing and temperature management will have greater needs on the Gladiator than on the Wrangler.
The tough-as-nails 3.6-litre Pentastar will be on board when the Gladiator launches and a 3.0-litre EcoDiesel is coming in 2020. The 3.6 litre engine has what it takes to master the higher temperatures towing generates. Pick-up trucks are designed with towing in mind and Jeep did not want to sacrifice any performance on the Gladiator. With the Sport, Sport S and the Overland having a towing capacity of 7,650 lbs and the off-road dominator Rubicon about 7,000 lbs, you can see why Jeep would want an engine that matches the sheer brute-force of this mid-sized truck.
We’re waiting for your call.
