We’re as excited as you are about the Jeep Wrangler pickup, still being tested under wraps as the carmaker teases us all into a frenzy. Word on the street has it that it’ll be called the “Scrambler” and the latest buzz says the tailgate will be super-traditional. Front-end design seems likely to be unmistakably Wrangler in look, but we may have to wait a little longer to see a full reveal. As soon as it’s available at our showroom in Mississauga serving Toronto and Oakville, you’ll be the first to know.

There’s some speculation (or a lot of it, depending who you talk to!) about engine options for the Scrambler, and outside North American markets, a diesel-only seems likely. The Wrangler will offer up three engines—gas V6, turbo 2 gas hybrid and diesel, and the eight-speed Scrambler pickup will be an automatic, although few other precise details are available. With the Toledo Supplier Park plant closed for renovations, it seems realistic that we won’t see the Scrambler till 2019.
